As a paleontologist, influencer and artist, Rey has never been afraid to combine and create the unexpected.
She is skilled in communication, public speaking, acting, singing, modeling and dancing and combines her scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills and creativity to create unique and inspiring media straight from her heart. On social media she combines paleontology, cosplay, comedy, skits and more to create videos that are educational and entertaining. She’s not afraid to speak out about difficult issues, including mental health, and has built a community where people can feel safe to be themselves without shame and encourage others to do the same.
Rey has traveled to remote areas in Antarctic South America, China, Denmark and the Western United States to search for dinosaurs. She has worked with fossils in Natural History Museums around the globe in China, Denmark, England, Chile, and the U.S., most often studying dinosaur fossils and the skeletons of living birds at the American Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Like her creative work, Reysuka’s research in paleontology refuses to be confined. She uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines research in bone morphology, genetics, evolutionary biology, ecology, computer coding, and visual art to get at answering some of the biggest evolutionary questions in Biology and Paleontology.
Rey believes that everyone deserves love, that science is for everyone, and that everyone deserves to be who they are without being ashamed of it. Her extensive outreach work in academia and her community of over half a million DinoNuggets on social media are built on these core values.
